We are back and with a vengence..........

Life remains good....

Regulator Watch was taken down following threats from a certain Elizabeth Calleja of Leamington Spa and her solicitors. The full story, copy correspondence and coment will follow in due course.

We just love it...

  1. I had wondered if you had come under threat from somewhere and this appeared the obvious potential source. Of course as you know, in cases of defamation truth is an absolute defence. The defamatory statement can indeed be defamatory but if it can also be proven to be true then there is no libel or case to answer. My guess is that this is the background to this matter. Interesting but unfortunate that the site was placed under threat in this way. The truth should always be able to be told.

  2. Welcome back friend Watchful and yes your observations on defamation are correct. Truth and free comment is and will be the watchwords of this blog, despite the threats from Elizabeth.

Liz (as she is I understand it known – or otherwise as Oh God not her again) once previously attempted to shut down Regulator Watch, via her puppet former MP James Plaskitt, see here: http://www.publications.parliament.uk/pa/cm200809/cmhansrd/cm091021/halltext/91021h0010.htm#09102129000505

Plaskitt and Calleja rather lost the ‘plot’ in that effort and it is rather a sad record of a MP and his constituent to apply (1984 fashion) correction of records – they failed.

She has somehow engaged other solicitors to her cause – the earlier ones having been dumped by her or dumped her – she runs through solicitors like Salty Dog does pints of cider. There is always some sucker out there, eh?

Her latest solicitors are as yet not realising the very serious errors of their ways, or quite what they have taken on, albeit they are rather aggressive, as their correspondence illustrates (copy to follow) .

This is very worrying as the reply (also to follow) from Regulator Watch indicates. The solicitors use a term (we would not choose to use/or used) which suggests that Mrs Calleja is, and we quote, “Mentally Disordered.”

Now, that is an awful suggestion, indeed an aggressive proposal on the part of Calleja’s solicitors. Wilt, nor others (at least publicly) to his knowledge has used that specific and we accept offensive term. OK her MP said she does not have “peace of mind” and that is fully accepted, indeed understood very well - see hansard link above.

    Furthermore:

For example, Elizabeth recently went on holiday to Turkey (again). How do we know? Simple, because she accesses Regulator Watch from there daily, indeed several times daily. Here are some recorded examples:

    16th August @ 12:10 am (i.e.10 past midnight)
Ditto @ 07:15 am (does she never sleep?)
    Ditto @ 15:58 pm
    Ditto @ 19:14 pm
17th August @ 16:10 pm (and various other times – yawn)
18th August @ 04.46 am (yes 04:46 in the morning)
    19th August @ 09:16 am
    Ditto @ 14:43 pm

She has been there (Mugla) a total of three weeks (so far) – so you can imagine the pattern of her access on the other dates.

I do not know about her, but I feel exhausted just thinking about getting up at 04:30 in the morning to access Regulator Watch. What is wrong with the woman?

“Mentally disordered” and lacking “peace of mind” have not been my choice of terms, but those who do use such terms obviously know her better than Wilt. What term would a reasonable person use to describe someone so obsessed that they get up at 04:30 in the morning, whilst on holiday in Turkey, to access Regulator Watch? Perhaps her solicitors, Gawd help them, have another suggestion, other than “mentally disordered.”

It must be time for another cider.

    Wilt

ps: wait till you see the correspondence between the solicitors and Salty Dog - it should cause a chuckle.

  3. Perhaps she has misread the site name and thinks that it is REGULARWATCH and has taken it literally. Funnily enough while the site was down I kept ending up after searches with much information about mechanical watch movements and their regulators. Now maybe Mrs C could learn something from these same pages as her site access records could, to the casual observer, give the impression that she has lost track of the normal pattern of day (activity)and night(rest)altogether.

  4. Dear Regulator Watch

If Wilt were an adventurer, he would be Indiana Jones.
