ABOUT THIS SITE

This site is concerned with and about the regulators in social care, education and health – areas of central concern to us all as they impact on our lives in one way or another at various times in our lives.

Particular emphasis is placed on social care, and the politics associated with protecting the public, especially children.

Regulators are not always appropriately focused on the right issues, sometimes there are gaps in monitoring and sadly occasionally regulators get things wrong, sometimes abysmally – who monitors those regulators? We do, or try to.

The Government has invested in those agencies/regulators not only considerable public funding but also immense responsibilities to monitor critical aspects of public service delivery. Is their monitoring efficient, competent and effective? We think not, or at least not always consistently and sometimes without the ability to do it with any sense of competence or fairness. Regulators get things wrong too – but you try getting them to admit to it.

Horror stories of unimaginable incompetence, instances of sheer stupidity, sometimes questionable motives or self serving interests that conflict with their public duties abound. We, with your help may expose and serve to improve the use of public funds to ensure that these regulators (public servants) regulate services and do it competently.
